Thanks for coming to my blog, if you are not interested in what is Keepvid and how to download youtube videos in converted format. Then you can very well proceed with the “The Solution is” which is at the end of this article.
I used to convert youtube videos in the website keepvid. I used to do this in chrome web browser. When the conversion file is ready in keepvid.com then all available converted file formats will be displayed , I will copy the link of the mp4 format file by Copy Link Address feature by right clicking the link.
Note: Keepvid needs JAVA environment for working. So please install java latest version from java website if you don’t have one.
I use the download manager named FDM (Free download Manager) which is free. Once I copied the link from the browser, then I will open the FDM and click + Icon (Add download icon) on left corner below the File menu. When we click the + icon or add download icon, another dialog box open with confirmation of the download. Once we click the OK Button. It starts download.
I was happy with it. But I faced a problem with this download manager, which made me upset. But once i found the solution FDM is awesome now.
What is the Problem?
The Problem is sometimes the download get stopped due to some reasons which I will mention later. Then it will not resume again once it got interrupted. I was very much upset by this issue. If you have faced this issue, then you will know what I am saying. Your download may be half or nearly fully completed but this error happens and everything will be spoiled. Check this below image for this problem, Can you see the red button in the image which is Stop. Then even if you Resume many times, it will get stopped repeatedly and it won’t work. Even Restart download (from beginning) also won’t work.
ALHAMDHULILLAH. Then I have found the solution.
The problem is:
There are several causes to why a download may fail before it has completed download. Below is a list of some of the more common causes to why a download fails.
- Lost Internet connection – If you lose connection to the Internet for any reason for any amount of time the download will fail.
- Lost connection with the server – If your connection between your computer and the server where you’re downloading the file from is interrupted or lost it will cause your download to fail. This is not a problem with your computer or Internet connection but a problem with the other computer or the connections in-between.
- Connection times out – If the file is being sent at or received below the servers threshold the server will time out the file because it is taking too long. This could be caused because the server is overloaded, your Internet connection is slow, or overall Internet is slow.

The Solution is:
- Copy the YOUTUBE to be downloaded file link again (which got to be stopped in FDM) and go to keepvid.com and do the conversion again. Now again you will get the file formats which are available. By COPY LINK ADDRESS feature, copy the URL again.
- Go to FDM, right click the downloading file which was stopped and click on Download Properties option. Another dialog box will appears.
- Then go to Mirrors Tab, Click ADD button, dialog box appears. Add the newly copied URL into URL text box. Click OK Button.
- Click the CLOSE button now appears in the DOWNLOAD PROPERTIES dialog box. Now FDM will accept the new mirror URL and get resumed the download again.
- Now right click the to-be-downloaded file and click start download. Then your download will continue to download again.
Now your favorite downloads don’t have to be restarted again for download from beginning and you don’t have to wait again for getting downloaded. By this solution, you can make the FDM to continue download.
